Everyone's memories.
One beautiful film.
Invite family and friends to share stories, photos, voice notes and short videos. We weave them into a tribute film to play on the day, and a hardcover photo book to keep forever.

“She still carries spare fishing line for the other kids, just in case.”— Tom, her friend since they were five
What is Reel4Life?
Reel4Life is an app for collecting memories of a person from their family and friends: short videos, voice notes, photos, stories and quotes. It turns them into a film set to music, to play at a funeral, memorial, birthday, wedding, retirement or any occasion, and a hardcover photo book to keep. The organiser invites people from the iPhone or Android app; contributors can add memories from any web browser without the app or an account. Making and previewing is free. Unlocking the full-quality film and book costs A$14.99 (about US$10) per event, paid once by the organiser. Contributors never pay.
- What it is
- A group memory app: many people contribute, one film and one photo book come out.
- Who pays
- The organiser, once per event: A$14.99 in Australia, or the local App Store or Google Play price elsewhere (about US$10). Contributors never pay.
- Free to try
- Creating an event, inviting people, gathering memories and previewing the film and book are free. Previews are watermarked.
- What people share
- Video messages (up to 2 minutes), voice notes, photos with captions and years, written stories, and one line for the book.
- Contributors
- No app, account or password needed: they open their invite link in any browser. The app is optional.
- Different questions
- Each contributor picks from three questions chosen for how they know the person. Most questions can only be answered once, so the stories don't repeat.
- The film
- Full HD (1080p), set to music, 3 to 12 minutes long. Quotes are always the contributors' own words; nothing is invented.
- The book
- A hardcover photo book of the photos and quotes (no video): a print-ready PDF comes with the unlock, and printed copies can be ordered.
- Printed books
- Printed in the lab nearest the recipient and posted to their door in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada and parts of Europe. Priced at checkout, with postage at cost. Contributors can order copies too.
- Playing it on the day
- AirPlay, Chromecast or a cable to any TV or projector, or save the file to a phone or laptop.
- Privacy
- Only the organiser sees every contribution. Each contributor sees what they shared. Nothing is public.
- Platforms
- iPhone and Android apps for organisers; any modern web browser for contributors.

Questions people ask
What is Reel4Life?

Unlocking the full-quality film and book costs A$14.99 (about US$10) per event, paid once by the organiser. Contributors never pay.
How do I make a tribute video from lots of people's memories?
Create an event in the Reel4Life app and invite people by email or a shared link. Each person records a short video or voice note, adds photos and writes a story in answer to a question. When you're ready, Reel4Life chooses the best moments, puts them in an order that flows, sets them to music and makes the film and a photo book. You can reorder, remove or re-make it as often as you like.
Does everyone need to download the app?
No. The organiser uses the app. Everyone else can add their memories in a web browser from the invite link, with no account or password. They can use the app if they prefer.
How much does it cost?
Making and previewing the film and book is free. Unlocking the full-quality film and the book for one event is A$14.99 in Australia, or the local App Store or Google Play price elsewhere (about US$10), paid once by the organiser. Contributors never pay. Printed hardcover books are optional and priced at checkout, with postage.
What can people share?
A short video message, a voice note, photos with a caption and the year, a story in their own words, and one line for the book. Any mix, in any order.
How is the film made?
Reel4Life looks at everything that's been shared, chooses the moments that tell the story best, orders them into chapters and sets them to music. Quotes and captions are always the contributor's own words; nothing is invented. You can reorder or remove any moment, change the title and music, and make a new version as more memories arrive.
How do we stop everyone writing the same thing?
Each contributor is offered three questions chosen for how they know the person (family, friend, colleague and so on). Most questions can only be answered by one person, so the film covers a whole life rather than thirty versions of the same message. A few open questions, like a funny story, are open to everyone.
Can I play the film at the funeral or party?
Yes. After unlocking, play it full screen and AirPlay or Chromecast it to a TV or projector, or use a cable. You can also save the file and give it to the venue: it plays on any computer.
Can I get a printed book?
Yes. The unlock includes the photo book as a print-ready PDF. Hardcover copies can be ordered in three sizes; they're printed in the lab nearest each recipient and posted to their door (Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada and parts of Europe). Contributors can order their own copy once the organiser has unlocked the event.
Is it private?
Yes. Only the organiser sees every contribution. Each contributor sees only what they shared. The finished film and book are shared by the organiser, as they choose. Nothing is published.
How is Reel4Life different from a slideshow maker?
A slideshow maker needs one person to find, collect and arrange everything. Reel4Life does the collecting: it invites people, gives each of them a different question, and gathers their videos, voice notes, photos and stories in one place. It then chooses the moments, orders them and sets them to music, and makes a photo book from the same memories as well as the film.
Can family and friends overseas take part?
Yes. Contributors only need their invite link and a web browser, wherever they are. Printed books can be posted to Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada and parts of Europe.
Is it only for funerals?
No. There are occasions for memorials, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, retirements, farewells, graduations, new babies and get-well wishes, each with its own questions, colours and tone.
